The Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join hands and work towards a better Benue that they will be proud of tomorrow.
This is contained in a Statment by Amb. Raphael Akume Ityav,Chief Press Secretary to the speaker, on Wednesday in Makurdi.
The Speaker said this when seventeen(17) Ward Chairmen of the Party from Gboko local government came to pay him a Congratulatory visit at his residence in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
Further, he emphasized unity and avered that without it, the victory of the party at the National and State levels will not have any positive effect on the lives of those who labored day and night to see that the Party takes over at the National and Benue state in particular.
The Speaker frowned at the internal wranglings among party members within Gboko Local Government and urged them to desist from it immediately.
” There is nothing like Sen. Dr. Akume faction, Chief Mrs. Regina Akume people, Becky Orpin group, or Aondona Dajoh people, those who voted for President Tinubu voted for Fr. Alia, those who voted for Chief Mrs. Regina Akume for the seat of Federal House of Representatives all voted for Chief Mrs. Becky Orpin and myself, so where is the division coming from today?”
Earlier, Leader of the Delegation Hon. Kaior Terlumun, among others who spoke said their visit to the Honorable Speaker was to congratulate him over his victory at the Polls and subsequent emergence as the Speaker of the 10th Assembly.
They appealed that the Party should not forget them in the scheme of things so as not to make them laughing stock before the opposition elements.
Most importantly, they appealed to the Government of His Excellency Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia to take a depth look into the erosion problems plaguing Gboko Local Government and bring permanent solutions to it.
