Ministerial appointments: Coalition confident Tinubu will make the right choices

The Coalition for Good Governance and Government Responsiveness has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu would make the right decisions for the development of democracy and the country.
The Convener, Mr Adebowale Abiodun made this known in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
“We trust that President Bola Tinubu will make the right decision for our democracy and country,” he said.
Abiodun said that Nigerians are expectant that the country would make a paradigm shift under Tinubu and the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda
According to him, Tinubu’s leadership style is one that discovers and promotes talent; and one that listens to the voice of the masses.
He, however, cautioned against the appointment of individuals with uncleared allegation of corruption as government functionaries.
“As we applaud your decisive steps and strategic appointments, we must draw your attention to some ominous clouds gathering from the North-Western state of Kano.
“It is the appointments from this all important political state that will lead Nigerians to know whether the government will be business as usual one or whether indeed we have a “Renewed Hope” to look up to,” he said.
Abiodun said that some persons positioning themselves for appointment as ministers from the state have uncleared corruption allegations hanging on them.
He said though they may be innocent until proven guilty, persons with questionable character should not be invited to the Federal Cabinet Council.
According to him, Tinubu’s bold decisions, and actions devoid of personal and party sentiments will send a positive signal to the country that it will not be business as usual.
“We want our democracy to be strengthened. And so we hope and pray that your government will be a success’’.
