The National Chairman of the Party, Mr Julius Abure made this known in Abuja in a meeting of members-elect with Gov. Alex Otti of Abia.
Abure said that looking at the mood of the nation which led to the Obidient movement and the eventual election of party members into various offices, there was need to be conscious of what members in offices do.
According to him, the exectations from the people are very high, people those elected on this platform as those that will save the country and save them.
“Therefore we must watch our behaviour and our actions, whether we are going to enjoy the support that we enjoyed from the people, depend on the way we conduct ourselves especially our behaviour in the National Assembly.
“Where are right now is that, the National Assembly is at the verge of being inaugurated and leadership is expect to emerge both in the Senate and in the House of Reps
“It will appear as if some of our members are divided along some political lines and so, we have had series of this engagement.
“The last one was on Monday where we resolved unanimously that we are going to make the decision on Friday which is tomorrow or Saturday,” he said.
Abure said that those elected on the platform of labour had become the mirror through which the party will be assessed.
“That is why we think we should always be together, educate ourselves, whatever action we want to take, we sit down and eschew it, look at the values and overall benefit that action will have on the party collectively and on individuals,” he said.
In his remarks, Otti thanked all the members for honouring the invitation to the meeting which he said was sent with very short notice.
He said he was invited for an interactive session with President Bola Tinubu after which he felt it was appropriate to sit down with members-elect to felicitate as members of one family.
Otti mourn the death of Sen. Ani Okwonkowo saying that he was his senior in secondary school in the 1970s.
The governor prayed for the repose of his soul and that God should comfort the member of the family.
