Cleric tasks Christians on thanksgiving, prayer for incoming administration

A clergyman, Pastor Timothy Ademola, the National Coordinator, Renewed Hope Prayer Fellowship, has urged Christians to cultivate the culture of thanksgiving, in order to receive God’s bountiful blessings.
The cleric who spoke during the groups daily prayer on Thursday in Abuja for a successful transition on May 29, also urged them to pray for the success of the incoming government.
He said a thanksgiving epitomised a grateful heart of those who appreciated God’s presence in their lives.
“Today’s fellowship as you may have noticed is special, we have our leaders from different denominations joining us today to pray to God.
“What is most important about today’s meeting is that we have switched mode a little bit and we have gone to the mode of Thanksgiving.
“What we are doing on behalf of the church today is basically to thank God for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice, Sen. Kashim Shettima for their upcoming inauguration.
“Our prophet have spoken our seers have seen and we are very sure that the government they will lead, will be a government that will take Nigeria to it’s destiny.
“That is why we have taken our prayer mode into a mode of Thanksgiving. We thank God for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we also thank God for Kashim Shettima.
“We thank God because we know that by the holy ghost and the communication of the spirit of our God that they will lead Nigeria to it’s place in glory.
“To all Nigerians, it is truly a time of renewed hope, when Nigeria shall take it’s place in destiny. Let us all join our hands together and be part of this great history that God has brought to us in our time,” Ademola added.
The Chairman of Christan Association of Nigeria(CAN), Lagos State, and the officiating Minister, Bishop Adegbite Stephen, said God loves those who show appreciation.
“The Bible said that people who wait upon the Lord he will renew their strength. You will work and will not be tired.
“As Asiwaju takes the leadership mantle from Buhari he will not be tired, when it is time to do his job he will never be weak.
“Today the message is that the Lord is our chamber, we shall not be in want, he will make us walk in green pastures.
“Though we walk through the valley of shadow of death we shall fear no evil. Our God will prepare a table before Nigeria and we will dwell in the name of the lord for ever and ever,” he prayed.
He also prayed against insurgency and other criminal activities dragging the country backward.
“Nigeria will be a country of peace, there will be joy across the country.
“Asiwaju will rule in good health, the Lord will renew his energy, the Lord will renew his strength,” he added. (NAN)
