Retired Gen. Olu Bajowa, an elder statesman, has tasked the President-elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu, to ensure even spread of appointment in his administration for justice and equity.
Bajowa, also a former Managing Director of the defunct Nigeria Airways, said this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
He said that it was important that appointments reflected the diversity of the country.
Bajowa, also a former Adjutant General of the Nigerian Army, said that equity and fairness in Tinubu’s administration would ensure peace and unity in the country.
“As the nation embarks on building a new Nigeria, principles of fairness, equity, justice, and the rule of law should reign supreme.
“Nigeria is presently engulfed with the problems of decadent and vices of moral compass, corruption, unemployment, poverty, hunger, and insecurity.
“This is compounded by a defective unitary constitution; these challenges require God’s intervention.
“God hears, cares, and divinely intervened to save all of us during the Covid-19 pandemic; the same God, with our ardent prayers will continue to care for us, as the nation now embarks on building a new Nigeria,” he said.
Bajowa said that the selection of the theme of the 10th Synod, “The God who Hears, Cares and Intervenes” was timely, apt and divinely inspired.
He commended the Bishop of the Diocese, Rev. Oluseyi Pirisola for his visionary and purposeful leadership, exemplified in his cerebral, hardworking, motivating, and endearing humility.
The retired general said that Pirisola’s innovative and fresh ideas introduced had made the Christian religion more appealing to younger generation, for service in the Lord vineyard
