A crack team with two staff members of the Benue State Ministry of Health visited a village 5km from Igbor, off Makurdi-Aliade Road to investigate reports of unlicensed clinics carrying out surgeries and causing harm to patients.
During the inspection, the proprietors who have been identified will face further action from the state Ministry of Health.
The presence of unlicensed healthcare providers, also known as quacks, is a serious concern, as they can cause significant harm to patients who seek medical care from them. The actions taken by the team are an important step towards protecting the community from such harm.
The Nigerian Medical Association, Benue State, and the state Ministry of Health are working together to take appropriate action against those responsible for operating these illegal clinics and ensure that only licensed and trained healthcare professionals are providing medical care to the public in the area.
