The nation, and especially Borno state, mourn the recent departure of a colossus, a true gem, and a dedicated preacher of the gospel.
On the fateful day of October 20, 2023, Reverend Inusa Akilahye Wakshama peacefully passed on to glory in Lagos after a brief illness. Throughout his life, he served God in various capacities and at different levels.

He notably served as the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Borno state, held the position of Chairman for the Borno State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, and later became the Chairman of the Board of Governors at North-Eastern Bible College, Demisa, Adamawa state.
He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Doris Yaro, the Executive Director of Gabasawa Women and Children Empowerment Initiatives, as well as his other children and grandchildren.
