Few hours to the inauguration of a new administration in Benue state, a group, Alia Alliance World Wide, has expressed confidence in the ability of the Governor elect, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia and his deputy, Sam Ode, to deliver dividend that will put smiles on the faces of the common man.
Speaking to newsmen after a pre- inauguration dinner organized to celebrate the coming administration, leader of the group, Kenneth Gyado, said the combination of the priest and his deputy, will bring back the lost hope of civil servants, pensioners and re-enkinde farmers confidence to re-invest in agriculture again.
Gyado, said “tomorrow’s inauguration marks the beginning of a new dawn for the people of Benue especially farmers, civil servants and pensioners who have been relegated to the background for eight years.
“The governor- elect is very much aware of the yearnings and aspirations of Benue people. Expectations are very high but we believe that the incoming Government is coming to save lives.”
He said, “the coming of the new administration we bring hope to the hopeless by building and reviving hospitals that will save lives, reopen and construct roads that will link communities with nearby markets to enable farmers transport their farm produce to available Markets with ease”
“We are looking forward to a Benue that will put smiles on the faces of the common man not the one that will focus on one man and his family, a Government that can pay salaries and pensions as at when due, a Government that can bring back the lost glories of the state, not the one that will invest time and resources in attending burial, weddings and receiving unnecessary delegations”
While stating that Benue is in need of a government that can also build confidence in the minds of investors and make them come to invest especially in the area of agriculture, Gyado said the person of Alia and Ode will make that happen.
The Governor elect, Fr Hyacinth Alia, appreciated Alia Alliance group for organizing the dinner and also thanked the Benue people for the confidence reposed in them which has brought them on board to serve the State, promising that they will never disappoint the people.
