The Governor – Elect of Benue State, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia has promised to complete work on the tomato processing factory at Wannune, and make the company fully functional when he finally takes over the affairs of the state.

Media Aide to Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Alia stated that Alia said this Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at George Akume’s house in Makurdi while addressing the people of Mbakor from Tarka local government who were there on a courtesy visit.
He said, it has been a point of concern for him as the company is left unattended to since after George Akume’s administration, promising to give it priority attention and make it fully operational to take care of the challenge of pepper and tomatoes in Benue State.
Fr. Alia who expressed worry about the level to which tomatoes and pepper waste in Benue State yearly without generating a substantial income for farmers, said the factory, when completed would help put a stop to that.
He also advised the young folk to always give respect to elders and stop insulting them, even as he promised his total commitment to the duty of governance with outmost humility and respect to elders of the land and stakeholders of his party, the APC.
The Governor – Elect appreciated the Leader of APC in North Central Nigeria, Sen. George Akume, pointing out his selflessness and commitment to the Divine Project which main aim is to fittingly provide solutions to the challenges Benue State is long bedeviled with.
On his part, the Minister for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs Sen. George Akume appreciated the Governor – Elect for accepting to join him in welcoming his kinsmen to his place.
He, again, congratulated Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, describing his victory as victory for God and the good people of Benue State and equally expressed certainty that Fr. Alia will link up with their friends at the Federal level to transform Benue.
The people, through Hon. Anthony Sende, Samuel Atsuku, Justina Dzeremo, Hon. Sember Gbam, Hon. Manger Manger, and the APC chairman for Mbakor, Hon. Shiaondo Tarka, earlier appealed to the the Governor – Elect to complete work on the tomato factory in Wanune and also consider including Mbakor sons and daughters in his administration.
Others who spoke at the event include the Deputy Governor – Elect, Barr. Sam Ode, Senator-Elect for Benue North West, Titus Zam,
the House of Representatives Member-Elect for Gboko/Tarka, Regina Akume, Sen. Jack Tilley Gyado and Simon Shango amongst others.
