The Governorship candidate of APC in Benue, Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia has pledged to uphold women’s rights and achievements and tackle their challenges, if elected.
Alia made the pledge on Wednesday in a statement issued by his media aide, Isaac Uzaan, to mark the International Women’s Day (IWD).
He also pledged to encourage girl-child education, combat gender-based violence and ensure adequate women representation in all appointments both at state and local government levels.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate acknowledged the leading role of women in raising families in spite of new realities and challenges in the country.
Alia urged women in the state to vote for the APC on Saturday to guarantee better future for them and their children.
