NIGERIAN PILGRIMS THRILL AUDIENCE AT MUSICAL CONCERT IN NAZARETH, ISRAEL

Abuja, Nigeria – October 2, 2025
The second batch of Christian pilgrims participating in the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission’s (NCPC) delayed Easter Pilgrimage exercise , comprising contingents from Imo and Abia States, captivated an international audience at a historic musical concert on October 2, 2025, at the Basilica of Jesus the Adolescent, Nazareth, Israel.
The performance by the Imo State Government House Choir marked the first-ever musical concert organised by a Nigerian pilgrim group in Israel. The event, a collaborative effort between the Imo pilgrims and Tabar Tours Nazareth (a leading ground handler in Israel), featured stirring choral and solo renditions, including a special Hebrew performance by Vida Tabar. The Biblical lesson was delivered by Sir Chukwuma Ekomaru, SAN, who read from Psalm 100.
Deputy Governor of Imo State, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, commended the choir, describing them as “the best in Sub-Saharan Africa.” She praised their artistry for making the Governor and people of Imo State proud, adding, “You have written your names in gold in the nation of Israel.” She also lauded the leadership of Rev. Fr. Gilbert Alaribe, Chairman of the Imo State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, for his effective guidance throughout the exercise.
This landmark event highlighted not only the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage but also the cultural and artistic contributions of Nigerian pilgrims to the global Christian community.
