Ijero Ekiti, Ekiti State – July 19, 2025: The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has joined an outpouring of tributes in honour of Hon. Mrs. Omowumi Ogunlola as she marked her 60th birthday — a milestone befitting a woman whose public service legacy echoes far beyond Ekiti State.
In a heartfelt message delivered by the Federal Commissioner representing the South East on the NCPC Board, Hon. (Chief) Clement Nweke, the NCPC boss described Hon. Ogunlola as “a woman of impact” whose contributions to society speak louder than any title. “It’s not how long one lives, but the impact,” he remarked, applauding her commitment to truth, equity, and service.
Known for her courage and candour, Hon. Ogunlola was praised for being an outspoken, God-fearing, and principled leader — a voice of conviction in an age that often rewards silence. “She is a gift not only to the South West but to the entire Nigerian nation,” Nweke emphasized.
The NCPC Executive Secretary also lauded Ogunlola’s unwavering commitment to good governance and national development, encouraging her to “not rest on her oars” but continue to serve as a beacon for younger generations.
A seasoned legislator and grassroots politician, Hon. Ogunlola previously served as the Chief Whip in the Ekiti State House of Assembly and as a member of the House of Representatives between 2019 and 2023.
Her 60th birthday celebration was more than a personal affair — it was a community-wide festival of legacy, faith, and service. The week-long event kicked off with a visit to the School for the Deaf on 17th July, followed by a health outreach on the 18th, a large-scale empowerment programme, and a stirring praise night that gathered hundreds in joyful worship.
The grand finale on July 19 saw a thanksgiving service at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Okelogbo, Ijero Ekiti, followed by a vibrant reception attended by an impressive lineup of dignitaries from across Nigeria’s political and religious spectrum.
Among those who paid tribute were the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Biodun Oyebanji; Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye; the state’s first Executive Governor, Otunba Adebayo Adeniyi; as well as current and former lawmakers, federal commissioners, and top officials from the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission.
As the music faded and the lights dimmed on a week of celebration, one thing remained clear: Hon. Omowumi Ogunlola has not merely turned 60 — she has entered a new chapter in a life defined by purpose, faith, and fearless leadership.
