The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has pledged his full support to the newly appointed Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (CPWB), Dr. Alfa Yusufu, who paid him a courtesy visit alongside his management team at the NCPC corporate headquarters in Abuja.
Bishop Adegbite expressed gratitude to Dr. Yusufu for beginning his administration with a familiarization visit to the Commission. He urged Dr. Yusufu to prioritize transparent service to both humanity and God, regardless of any challenges that may arise.
The NCPC Chief Executive informed Dr. Yusufu that he himself had started with very limited resources and expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its support, which enabled the successful conduct of the Commission’s 2024 Main Pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan.
He assured Dr. Yusufu of his unwavering support and promised to maintain communication with the Nasarawa State government to help secure the necessary backing for increased pilgrim sponsorship from the state.
Bishop Adegbite praised Dr. Yusufu, stating, “With your appointment, I believe Nasarawa State is blessed with someone of your caliber and pedigree; you are indeed a round peg in a round hole.” He also called for prayers for Nigeria.
In his response, Dr. Alfa Yusufu expressed his eagerness to engage with the NCPC leadership and looked forward to a fruitful mentorship. He thanked Bishop Adegbite for the warm reception and appealed for continued support for the Nasarawa State CPWB.
The management team that accompanied Dr. Yusufu included Mrs. Anne Jatau, Director of Administration and Supply; Mrs. Grace Alkali, Director of Finance and Accounts; Mr. Luku Allu, Director of Pilgrims Operations; and Mr. Musa Dukakis, Head of Internal Audit.
