NCPC COMMENCES SCREENING FOR 2025 MAIN PILGRIMAGE TO ISRAEL AND JORDAN

Lagos, Nigeria – The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has officially flagged off the screening process for intending Christian pilgrims participating in the 2025 Main Pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan.
Speaking at the inaugural screening held in Ikeja, Lagos, on November 27, 2025, the Executive Secretary of the NCPC, Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, assured pilgrims of their safety, noting that peace has been restored in the region.
Bishop Adegbite emphasized that the medical screening is critical to ascertaining the health status of all participants. He commended President Bola Tinubu for demonstrating unprecedented support for both Christian and Muslim pilgrimages, urging the pilgrims to pray for the success of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Executive Secretary reaffirmed the Commission’s zero-tolerance policy regarding abscondment. He stated that robust mechanisms have been put in place to ensure zero abscondment during the pilgrimage.
Also speaking at the event, Dr. Omoniyi Okudero, Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, described the screening as a vital preparatory step preceding the airlift of pilgrims. He noted that the exercise involves collaboration with the NCPC and relevant security agencies to verify travel documents and enlighten pilgrims on expectations in the Holy Land.
Dr. Okudero added that the medical screening would enable the medical team to procure and carry appropriate medications to meet the specific needs of the pilgrims. He enjoined the group to adhere to all guidelines and laws of the host nations while serving as good ambassadors of Lagos State and Nigeria.
