NCPC EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, BISHOP ADEGBITE, URGES PILGRIMS TO LIVE EXEMPLARY LIVES

–Toruka Anthony
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has called on Nigerian pilgrims to live lives worthy of emulation. He made this charge on October 2, 2025, at Tabar Hotels in Nazareth during the official presentation of Jerusalem Pilgrims Certificates to contingents from Imo and Abia States, participating in the delayed 2025 Easter Pilgrimage exercise.
Bishop Adegbite stressed that the “JP” title conferred upon pilgrims must be reflected in their daily character and conduct. According to him, society’s expectations are high, and pilgrims must rise to the challenge by serving as role models in their communities.
Her Excellency Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, Deputy Governor of Imo State, praised the pilgrims for their exemplary behaviour throughout the 10-day spiritual exercise in the Holy Land. She commended Governor Hope Uzodinma for his sustained commitment to the spiritual growth of his people and his consistent sponsorship of pilgrimages.
She also applauded the NCPC for its effective coordination of the exercise, as well as Tabar Tours Nazareth for the quality services rendered.
Special Apostle Kenneth Wiper, Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia State on Religious Matters, described pilgrimage as a profound spiritual journey rather than a routine activity. He urged pilgrims to live above reproach and serve as beacons of light to others.
Mr. Ezekiel Ikwe, Charge d’Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy in Israel, commended the NCPC for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage and expressed appreciation to the governments of Imo and Abia States for sponsoring their contingents.
The highlight of the ceremony was the official presentation of Jerusalem Pilgrims Certificates to participants by the General Manager of Tabar Tours, Shadia Srour.
