NCPC BOSS URGES CHRISTIAN PILGRIMS TO PRAY FOR NATIONAL LEADERS
By Anthony Toruka

Abuja, 27th September 2025 – The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has called on intending Christian pilgrims from Imo and Adamawa states traveling to Israel and Jordan to uphold President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in prayer while in the Holy Land.
Bishop Adegbite made the statement on 26th September 2025, while addressing the departing pilgrims at the Pilgrims Terminal of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
He noted that President Bola Tinubu is committed to ensuring the satisfaction and welfare of Nigerians and emphasized that the NCPC shares this vision, striving to guarantee a fulfilling pilgrimage experience in line with the Commission’s corporate slogan: Service and Satisfaction.
Highlighting the President’s support for religious pilgrimages in Nigeria, both Christian and Muslim, Bishop Adegbite urged pilgrims to remember Nigeria in their prayers as the nation celebrates its 65th anniversary. He also encouraged prayers for the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who shares the nation’s birth year, turning 65 on 21st September—a coincidence he described as providential.
The NCPC helmsman further called on pilgrims to pray for peace in Israel, the broader Middle East, and Nigeria, as well as for peace in troubled homes, reminding them that Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. He also urged them to include their Governors and personal intentions in their prayers.
Bishop Adegbite advised pilgrims against any form of abscondment during the pilgrimage, stressing that such actions would bring shame to their families, states, and the nation. He assured that the NCPC has implemented robust mechanisms to maintain zero abscondment.
Meanwhile, the third batch of intending Christian pilgrims arrived safely at Queen Alia International Airport, Amman, Jordan, on 27th September at 1:15 am local time to begin their 10-day pilgrimage program across Jordan and Israel. This marks the third batch airlifted since the commencement of the NCPC 2025 delayed Easter pilgrimage exercise on 15th September 2025.
