NCPC Sends Forth Two Officers in Grand Style
By Anthony Toruka

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has once again demonstrated its culture of honour and appreciation by organizing a befitting send-forth ceremony in recognition of two of its long-serving and dedicated officers, Barr. Sonny Ebiyaibo, former Director of Administration, and Mr. Agiobu Fyneface, former Chief Executive Officer in the Accounts Department. Both officers retired from active service in August 2025, marking the end of distinguished careers in the Commission.
The colourful event, which took place on Thursday, August 28, 2025, was graced by management, staff, and distinguished personalities from across the public sector.
In his address, the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, congratulated the retirees for their outstanding contributions to the growth and stability of the Commission. He described their retirement as not an end but the beginning of a new chapter in life. According to him, “Retirement is not about leaving relevance, but about entering a new season of rest, reflection, and greater purpose. We are grateful for the years of labour, the spirit of service, and the commitment you have shown in strengthening this Commission.”
Bishop Adegbite further encouraged serving officers to emulate the discipline, dedication, and faith-driven service exemplified by Barr. Ebiyaibo and Mr. Fyneface, noting that their legacies would remain a reference point for the Commission.
In his remarks, Barr. Sonny Ebiyaibo expressed deep gratitude to the leadership and staff of NCPC for the honour done to them. He described the Commission as unique, not only because of its mandate but also because of the Christian values it embodies, which, in his words, “leave a lasting spiritual imprint on every staff member.”
Similarly, Mr. Agiobu Fyneface thanked his colleagues for their support throughout his years of service, acknowledging that the cooperative and faith-based work culture of NCPC played a significant role in his professional fulfilment.
The high point of the ceremony was the cutting of special birthday cakes prepared for both retirees, symbolizing celebration, thanksgiving, and the sweetness of a new beginning.
The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Sen. Rev. Amos Johanna, a former Director of Operations in NCPC; several retired Federal Permanent Secretaries; former Directors; and other well-wishers, who commended the Commission for setting a standard of honour for its workforce.
The send-forth celebration not only highlighted the achievements of the retiring officers but also reinforced NCPC’s culture of appreciation, unity, and excellence. It was a day marked by joy, reflection, and renewed commitment to service by the entire NCPC family.
