….Upgrades mubi general hospital to Federal medical centre
The Federal Government and Adamawa State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to finalize the agreement on the handover and conversion of Cottage Hospital Hong and General Hospital Mubi into Federal Medical Centres.
An agreement which signifies a deliberate initiative of the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare to improve and expand healthcare services for all Nigerians, aligning with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
A statement signed Alaba Balogun, Deputy Director, Information & Public Relations, revealed that the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare Prof. Ali Pate, made this statement through at the signing of Memorandum of Understanding MoU between the Federal Government and Adamawa State Government.
On it’s benefits, Prof. Pate, represented by the Permanent Secretary Daju Kachollom, asserted that the upgrade is critical to expanding and strengthening of health services across the country.
He said, “And with this signing, we believe, your, that this movement forward will not just be for the people of Mubi and Hong, but for the entire North East and any of our neighbouring countries”.
Elaborating further, the Coordinating Minister added that the conversion to Federal Institutions will enhance the health of the citizens and beyond in line with the mandate of the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare to provide quality and safe health care services.
Speaking earlier, the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, who also chaired the official handover and signing of the MoU commended the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare for its foresight to upgrade the state’s health facilities.
The agreement, she explained, is strategic to improving and providing quality health services to the beneficiaries, the people of Adamawa state; stressing, the initiative aligns with Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s priority of health sector.
She restated the commitment of the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to providing requisite support for the health intitutions to thrive.
In his remarks, the State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Chief Felix Tangwami, appreciated the impactful efforts of the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare to enhance health care provision in Adamawa State.
