With the 15th of October set aside every year to commemorate the International Day of Rural Women, the Maden Healthcare Foundation, has in recognition of the crucial role rural women play in agriculture, food security, and rural economies worldwide, called for greater support and empowerment of rural women.
To ensure that they have equal opportunities and resources to thrive and lead change in their communities.
In celebration, their contributions to sustaining communities, improving livelihoods, and driving development, was highlighted.
Dr. Eseoghene Agbatutu, the Executive Director of the Maden Healthcare Foundation, in a brief statement disclosed that, “the day also brings attention to the challenges rural women face, including limited access to education, healthcare, and resources.”
Dr. Agbautu therefore enjoined all stakeholders including foreign partners and government at all tiers, political appointees and the private sector to support the rural woman in the development of their potentials as that would further impact positively on their various communities.
“Let’s support our rural women,” Dr Agbatutu stressed.
