Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, in his address to the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members, has charged them, to abide by the rules, regulations, Oath of Allegiance and the Bye-laws of NYSC.
The Director General, while addressing the Corps Members deployed to Jigawa State at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Fanisau, Dutse and their counterpart in Bauchi State Temporary Orientation Camp in Kangere, advised that they avoid infraction, in the course of their service year.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Caroline Embu, Acting Director, Information and Public Relations.
General Ahmed, added that they should endeavour to serve the country in a manner, that will portray them as good ambassadors of their families, institutions of graduation, and indeed the Scheme.
He also advised, that they respect the cultures and traditions of their host communities and create harmonious relationships with members of their communities of service.
Speaking further, he enjoined the Corps Members to use their social media platforms responsibly by promoting positive and constructive content at all times.
In his camp situation report to the Director General, the NYSC Jigawa State Coordinator, Mr Dawut Jidda, said 1,434 Corps Members comprising of 774 males and 660 females were registered in camp.
He commended the teamwork and synergy among the Orientation Course Officials drawn from the various organisations that constitute the Scheme’s collaborating agencies.
Jidda credited the smooth operations of the camp to the seamless teamwork and the discipline of the Corps Members.
Similarly in her camp brief, the Bauchi State Coordinator, Mrs Rifkatu Daniel said a total of 1,468 Corps Members comprising 717 males and 751 females were registered.
She added that they have displayed high sense of discipline and loyalty to the Scheme.
She also commended their cooperation with the Camp authorities as they have been participating actively in all the camp activities.
