Says NYSC has contributed outstandingly to the promotion of national unity, integration and socio-economic development
For its outstanding contributions to promoting national unity, integration and socio-economic development since its inception, the National Youth Service Corps has received accolades.
The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has lauded the Scheme at the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Pre-Orientation Workshop held in Kaduna with the theme; Emotional Intelligence: An Indispensable Tool for a Successful Orientation Programme.
The Governor, was represented by the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development/Chairman, NYSC Kaduna State Governing Board, Hajia Rabi Salisu.
He acknowledged the efforts of the Scheme, in encouraging patriotism, and aiding national development, among graduate youths through its activities.
A statement signed by Eddy Megwa Director, Information and Public Relations, disclosed that, the Governor commended the NYSC for organising the workshop, which would help evaluate the Scheme’s performances and improve its efficiency.
The Governor reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment, to supporting NYSC Kaduna Secretariat, in achieving its objectives, recognising the significant impact the NYSC is having on the lives of Nigerian youths.
In his welcome address, the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, emphasised, that the workshop provides an opportunity to review previous Orientation Courses, identify areas for improvement, and enhance the overall performance of subsequent programmes.
General Ahmed revealed, that the workshop aims to enrich the content of the orientation programme, ensuring a seamless and successful Orientation Course for Camp participants.
He also urged participants to leverage the workshop, to achieve a hitch-free programme.
The Director General, acknowledged the invaluable support of stakeholders to the Scheme, encouraging participants to capitalise, on the invaluable resources of the workshop.
Earlier, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Alhaji Ahmed Wada Ikaka, disclosed that the Orientation Camp, being the first point of contact for Corps Members, creates a lasting impression in their minds, hence, the need for proactive measures, that would create a wonderful experience.
Participants at the workshop include; NYSC Top Management, Camp Directors and Camp Commandants designate, State Coordinators, Heads of Planning, Research and Statistics departments nationwide, officers from NYSC Area Offices and the National Directorate Headquarters Abuja.
