The Distinguished Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Minister of Labour and Employment Simon Bako Lalong has felicitated with the New Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC, His Lordship Bishop Stephen Adegbite on his first day in office. The distinguished Senator paid the Executive Secretary a courtesy visit at the NCPC corporate headquarters on Monday 5th, February 2024.
Senator Simon Lalong who was highly elated and full of enthusiasm expressed his joy as he said, “I must say I am very happy, this is very special to me.” He also was very optimistic as he said “God will use you to pilot this place to help Christians in Nigeria, to work in restoring peace in Nigeria and Plateau State. This place will bring out the Light and Salt of the Earth.”
Senator Lalong promised his unrelenting support and appreciated all predecessors before the new Executive Secretary, in his words, “we are loyal and we will continue to be loyal, we will equally do our best and give all the necessary support and we thank our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this wonderful choice.”
The new Executive Secretary His Lordship Bishop Stephen Adegbite who was very elated and grateful in his response said, “I am particularly grateful to you for being the first high profile guest, your coming signals that Nigeria is one.”
“You are a very respectable man of honour and loyalty whom the President cherishes, I appreciate you, I want to register my condolence to the victims of the attacks in Plateau State.” He added, “We will never abandon you in this struggle, we condem any evil act to the people of Plateau State.”
Bishop Adegbite further pledged his dedication and faithfulness to the entire Christendom and Nigerians at large, as he said, “My coming to this place is not only for Christianity but for the growth of Nigeria.” Adding that, “with the right support I will deliver more as I am not taking this appointment for granted, Nigerians will be satisfied and Nigeria will be great again, he said.
The Executive Secretary appreciated the contributions of the past Executives of the Commission while promising to use his own tenure to play the right part and contribute his own quota. He affirmed that “God will take NCPC to greater heights not minding the level it is now.”
