Super Falcons progresses in the Olympics Race against Feisty ‘Lucy’, the Federal Government has charged them to redouble their efforts and consign Ethiopia to the heap in order to reach the penultimate round of qualifiers for next year’s Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in France.
The Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh gave the charge in a message to the Falconets after their draw in the first leg of the match on Sunday in East Africa, charging them to step on the pedal and ensure a landslide win in their next match coming up today, October 31, 2023 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja
The Minister expressed optimism that the Falconets will do the nation proud, especially since the match is being played on the shores of the country.
Senator Owan Enoh called on them to take charge, dominate and conquer the ‘Feisty Lucy’ of Ethiopian.
*Make full use of the home advantage, the cheers, the applause, the support and give us the much needed win*, he said
Senator Owan Enoh charged the girls to make the win a welcome gift to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration, being their first match in the country since the inception of the present administration, added that he will personally celebrate the victory as a gift to him
*Even though we are in the race for qualification, I will be excited if the Super Falcons can beat Feisty ‘Lucy’ in today’s match for the generality of Nigerians, as we celebrate this new phase of our sports*, he said.
He therefore called on sports loving Nigerians, not to only pray for their success but also come in their multitude to watch the match, adding that Nigeria is solidly behind them.
